Redding's second annual Mountain Bike Challenge uniting current and new bicyclists in a friendly self-competition highlighting our diverse trail system.

Didn't complete your passport in time for the raffle?

You can still complete it and turn it in to Redding Recreation for a MMBC Hat of your choice!  While supplies last.

Challenge Dates

March 20th through June 1st, 2018

 

 

Get Your Passport

The passports and maps may be picked up at most local bike shops or downloaded via the links above.  Strava Segments have been created for all of the trail rides and links to these can be found here.

 

 

Drop Off Your Passport

You must have your passport completed and turned in by noon June 1st to be eligible for the raffle. You can drop off your passport at the following locations:

 

Turtle Bay Visitors Center, 844 Sundial Bridge Dr.

(Open W-F, 9am-4pm & Sat-Sun, 10am-4pm)

 

City of Redding Recreation at City Hall, 777 Cypress Avenue

(Open M-F, 8am-5pm)

 

 

What you win

All Challenge participants that successfully complete all rides in at least one category will receive a Mayor's Mountain Bike Challenge hat.

The first 20 people to black out all of the rides on their passport will receive a free pizza at

Maxwell's Eatery Downtown.

In addition, your name will also be entered in the Challenge raffle for a gift certificate to a local bike shop of your choice for each category (see below).  Gift card winners will be drawn at the Mayor's Mountain Bike Challenge closing social at Maxwell's in downtown Redding on June 1st.  You must be present to win.

Council Opening - 6pm

Show your support by attending in your favorite jersey.

March 21st

Kick off social - 5pm

Come down to Maxwell's Eatery Downtown to kick off the event.  Bike valet provided by Shasta Living Streets

 

April 20th

Spring SPin @ Caldwell park

It's a party in the park celebrating National Bike Month.  Come enjoy the festivities including Food Trucks, Beer poured by Redding Trail Alliance, Live Music, and a movie in the park provided by Enjoy Magazine.  Make sure the whole family brings their bikes so you can enjoy the Caldwell Junior Bike Park.

May 4th

 Lemurian Pre-registration Party

Last minute registration from 5:00PM – 7:00PM for the next day’s Lemurian Mountain Bike race then party the evening away with us at Caldwell Junior Bike Park.  Note: we encourage everyone to register on-line at active.com.  There will be bikes, beer and food trucks!

THE Moment - The birth of a sport that Nobody Wanted,

a documentary about the birth of freeride mountain biking.

May 5th

 Lemurian Classic

Presented by Owens Healthcare, this North State cross country mountain bike race is legendary in its roots and rigor.

May 19th
